Guillem and Jingyi are both part of the EVOMET network, an EU-funded Marie Sklodowska Curie International Training Network aiming to advance the understanding of metastasis. As part of the network they helped organise the EVOMET conference: “Deconstructing the evolution of metastasis” which took place from the 6th – 8th of November (2024) in Brussels (Belgium). The conference aimed to bring together early-stage and expert researchers, EU policymakers and patient advocate groups to discuss the complex processes underlying cancer metastasis, the latest research findings as well as how these have the potential to drive change.

Guillem and Jingyi had the unique opportunity of presenting their recent findings through short-talks and poster sessions. Lisi (PhD student), Sarah (MSc student) & Verena(MSc student) from the lab also attended and Felix, recent PhD graduate of the lab and now a Medical Manager at Novartis, delivered a career workshop at the conference.

All members of the Obenauf Lab benefited from the event, enjoying insightful talks on metastasis and participating in knowledge-sharing sessions during workshops and poster presentations.
